Adieu to childhood

I was in 8th standard when I(along with my two other friends..let me call them A and what else..B) bunked classes to watch DDLJ..and that was when I fell hopelessly in love with LOVE!
We were three giggly girls…with this secret plan..we would sit under the school tree and plan for hours together…not even a teeny weeny small detail was left ..like how to reach the theatre..what excuse to mention in our leave letters..what to wear..what to eat…no astronaut going to the moon would be that thrilled!
We went there early morning…and were disheartened to know that there was already a long queue.We were sooo young then..that a few hours wasted in the queue..didnt bother us.My friend..was one over-excitable gal…her face was red with excitement and she could hardly stop giggling..
We finally got the tickets and held hands(oh!ya..u get that disease if u study in convents..holding hands is ur life support system) and went in..and the minute we sat..we started discussing whether to buy popcorn or potato chips during the interval even before the movie started!
Once the movie started…all three were lost!
we had fallen in love with LOVE and…and not to forget with shah rukh khan!
Each one of us …we have this bittersweet moment in our life…when we bid goodbye to the carefree days of childhood…when for the very first time our hearts flutter to an unknown melody…and strange dreams take over our imagination!
When Kajol read out from her diary…I knew my moment was then….u don’t consciously enjoy that moment..i was munching on my share of potato chips then;)…totally engrossed in the movie..but now when i look back…i know that it was “the” moment!
During the latter half of the movie my friend cried so much..that the everybody turned and gave us strange stares…i tried hiding behind my empty chips packet..but it turned out be too small to cover my big head
We couldn’t stop talking about that adventure of ours for months…and we still talk about it when we meet up…my excitable friend(she is till very excitable:))
got married in January….and it only seems like yesterday..when we came out of the theatre…. wanting to fall in love!
Those days.. love was what i saw in shah rukh’s eyes..and heard about in hindi movie songs..and read in M&B novels
I wish for those days when happiness was watching first day -first show movies with giggling friends and sitting beside the window reading love stories!
