A passing thought..

Ladies room,
Bangalore International Airport.
My nose is running and my eyes are watering. No! I was not cutting onions in the airport ladies room.
I was just feeling emotional about leaving my family behind to join my husband in the US.I look at the mirror to see a girl with
disheveled hair and red watery eyes.As I reach for the kleenex in my bag,two women enter.
They are white, on the wrong side of middle age and fat.
I ignore them and continue with feeling sad for myself-cant eat paani-pooris on street sides! Even in my obvious self pity..I cant help over hearing their conversation
After they use the toilet they come out and as they are freshening up..one woman goes “It so dirrrrrrrrrrrrty!” .
And the other lady agreed and they started discussing how unclean and unhygenic Indian toilets were.
Somehow I had an irrational urge to defend the toilets.I agreed with them. The toilets were
pathetic…but I felt angry at them for commenting on my nation’s toilet rooms.
Is this patriotism..that you love it enough to defend even its weakness?
Guess its just silliness!
Its not patriotism…we need to accept the fact that our toilets are pathetic…
by the way, had you tried to defend, you would have easily convinced those ladies that Indian toilets are the best!

And maybe thats why Infy started sponsoring toilets in BengLur
Will be interesting to see your responses on the other side of the world.
We had once gone miles to get a taste of panipuri which was nonsense. Like the tea they make in big hotels. Good luck anyway

The feeling to defend your nation grows stronger the farther away you are from it and the lesser number of people of your nation you meet.. Welcome to the US :).. Life sucks!
This from a America lover?Even KFC could not stop you about cribbing abt how life sucks..huh?
Even I wonder why Five star hotels make such pathetic tea…
One of the first things I ever wrote was my experience in having tea in Southern Star against that of a small chai dukaan.
ya…I am planning to write a lot of blogs about my experience here..lets see.
Thanks for the wishes!
hehehe…If I am that good at convincing…why am i yet to succeed in making you believe that I am your source of inspiration?
Hey…hope you have a nice stay there!
I look forward to your posts from there.
The KFC here sucks big time.. I prefer the one in India.. Although I’ve found alternatives and whereever the chicken goes, the weltanschauungs follows
