excuse me

It’s been a crazy month. Working late nights and weekends, drifting back to sleep while brushing my teeth, eating breakfasts while hopping into my jeans…threatening a sleepy Saif of dire consequences if he doesn’t get me to Bart station on time, having processed food for lunch…finding no time to pursue any hobbies , calling my [...]

With a perspective…

I am like Marianne in “Sense and Sensibility”. I sometimes unfairly think that people who don’t appreciate things as intensely as I do…shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy it at all!!!
So I find it hard to share books, music/movie CDs and anything wonderful I happen to come across. So to make amends…I am writing this post. [...]

“tap..taptap..tap!!”
“Oh! please…God, why are you doing this thing to me?!?”
“tap..tap..tap!”

I get off the bed muttering obscenities and look outside the window. There he was trying to bend the branch of nandabattlu down so that he could pluck flowers.
Since the nandabattlu shrub was just next to my room window..I was inevitably woken up everyday morning!

There is nothing like a sea-side breeze to make your belly rumble. It was a sunny Saturday; Saif and I were driving on the highway Cabrillo, alongside the coastline. A putz…

I stumble across the laptop cable and Saif goes “You are the real Bridget Jones!!!”

I skid on the kitchen floor and empty all the dry fruits on Saif’s lap and he goes “you are the real Bridget Jones!”

I open the car door stylishly and hit the door against a sports car! Saif is banging his [...]

The cup was exquisite; small with beautiful gold and brown patterns at the rim. The saucer had the same designs on it edges.

The cup was full with dark choclateey brown thick liquid. A small whisk of smoke was slowly uncurling itself…like a dame waking up from slumber…I look at it-suspicious and excited all at once.

The [...]

A passing thought..

My nose is running and my eyes are watering. No! I was not cutting onions in the airport ladies room.I was just feeling emotional about leaving my family behind to join my husband in the US.I look at the mirror to see a girl with disheveled hair and red watery eyes.As I reach for [...]

a loved one’s echo

A song I once heard painted this story for me…People who read it think its a sad story..but for me..its a story about love and hope-
It’s autumn….with the winter just ahead. Its windy…and the wind-maiden on her way… gently teases the russet colored leaves and they giggle and dance as if tickled. You see a [...]
